Sketched live while watching the Manhattan Choral Ensemble perform Handel's Messiah at the Church of the Holy Trinity, this print captures the spirit of this special musical moment.
A classic holiday tradition, Handel's Messiah is a particularly special piece of music for me as I used to perform it both as choir member at Westminster Choir College and later as a soloist during my career as a professional opera singer. Watching the singers breathe together, listening to the trumpets sound, and feeling the warmth of a few hundred people spending their Friday night together in an old church, listening to old music... I hope you'll feel the beauty of the moment that inspired this illustration each time you look at it.
Until we can gather together again, remember these special holidays moments with a print.
